FLASH LEY FAMILY FOODBANK
Sadly, over 13 million people live below the poverty line in the UK. We realise how difficult times are and will be starting a Food Bank Collection for our own families.
This will commence from Monday 2nd October and a collection box will be placed in the school’s main reception area.
Each week, food parcels will be given out to families in need. Please see Mrs Locke or Mrs Banks to express an interest in this for your family. The information will be kept in the strictest confidence.
We would be grateful for any donations of the following:
Have a lovely weekend and we'll see you all on Monday
Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂
COVID: We would like all parents to be aware that COVID numbers are increasing nationally with reports of a new variant. Although the current guidelines have not changed we would like parents to be vigilant with regards to keeping pupils at home if they have high temperatures in particular.
A reminder of the current rules: if your child is well enough to come into school, they do. If they aren't well - keep them at home.
At the start of every term we see the rise in bugs and now that testing is not mandatory it is hard to know what the infections are.
We will be ensuring that our cleaning and sanitisation in school are stepped up to support this too.
Thanks for your co-operation in this matter.
So, this week: -
So next week: -
After School Clubs start next week on a Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm only. Please collect from the main school office/hall doors promptly. All clubs are now full. You will have been notified by text as to which club your child has been successful in getting a place on. The clubs will run for the next 4 weeks and then recommence after October half term. A reminder will be given each week.
Keep your eyes peeled on Monday of next week for an announcement in relation to our Year 6 roles and responsibilities 🙂
KS1 - a reminder that we require £1 donation towards the Harvest and Autumn Learning. Money in an envelope and handed to your child's class teacher no later than 5th October 2023
A reminder that the cooler days are now approaching. Children need to bring a coat to school with them each day for break and lunchtime.
Have a lovely weekend.
See you all on Monday.
Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂
And just like that we've completed another week!! 🙂
We've received a telephone call from a local resident this morning in relation to some of our younger children running across her garden each morning! Please make sure that when walking to school, you have control of your children as it's totally unacceptable to allow children to run over residents’ gardens. They have a RING doorbell fitted so can see clearly that their plants are being trampled on. Thanks for your co-operation in this matter.
So, this week: -
Dates for the Autumn Term have now been issued via Marvellous Me, they have also been updated on the school calendar and also the school website and facebook page. More details will be issued nearer each event.
Key reminders have also been posted on the outside noticeboards (at the back of school by the steps) so this is a good reference point for PE days and key dates etc.
Please note we have the following INSET Days this term: - FRIDAY 27th OCTOBER and FRIDAY 22nd DECEMBER - School will be closed to all pupils
After School Club letters will also be issued over the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled for these as places are issued on a first come, first served basis so be quick 🙂 Clubs will be each Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm. We aim to start them week commencing: - 25th October 2023

Welcome back to school. We hope you've had a great Summer and are feeling refreshed for a very busy term 🙂 It's lovely to welcome lots of new families to our Flash Ley community.
We'll start first with some lovely news. Mrs Bates tied the knot over the Summer break and is now Mrs Wileman. We wish Mr and Mrs Wileman many happy years together.
A polite reminder that no dogs are allowed on site along with no vaping either.
Everyone has settled really well and children have already adjusted to the daily school routine. Lots of new friendships have been made and everyone looks super smart in their school uniforms.
A reminder that our main communication is via our Marvellous Me App and a weekly summary is posted on our school facebook page each Friday. We also have all our key dates on our school calendar. If you require a Marvellous Me sign in, please nip into the office and we can sort out one for you.
Key dates will also be posted in the coming weeks on the notice boards around the outside of school.
By now, you should have all received via MM the Autumn Newsletter which gives lots of information with regard to routines in each class, ie, PE days etc. If you haven't received this, please speak to your child's class teacher on Monday and we'll make sure you receive this. A reminder that on PE days, children can wear their PE kits to school.
So looking ahead to next week:-
If you aren't attending ERIC arrive at normal time of 8.40am.
Key dates for Autumn Term will also be issued in the next few weeks. These will be updated on the school calendar and also be sent via the Marvellous Me App.

A special 'thank you' to everyone who came along to our Celebration Assemblies. I'm sure you'll all agree, it was a lovely reflection of our very busy year.
DRUM ROLL!!! We raised a staggering £2113.90 from our sponsored slide event. This will be used in the new academic year to continue to subsidise the coaches and visits for school trips. You are all amazing 😊
Also, a big thank you to the parents/carers who have expressed an interest in helping out with school trips, sporting events, fayres etc 😊 We’ll be in touch in September to get you involved.
So, now to recharge the batteries, enjoy the summer and make lots of memories. Fingers crossed the weather perks up a bit!! 🙂
Thanks once again for your continued support. We couldn’t do it without you all doing your part😊
We have certainly ended the year on a high!
See you all on Tuesday 5th September 2023
Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂

So, this week: -
Please keep your eyes peeled for a letter coming out in the next few days in relation to 'volunteering' to help with school events/trips in readiness for the next academic year.
End of year reports have been issued today along with attendance.
A letter has also been MM to you all giving details of class teachers etc for September 2023. Our transition afternoon is on Monday 17th July so that children get the chance to meet their new class teacher and get familiar with arrangements in readiness for September.
Looking ahead to the final week of the Summer Term: -
A polite reminder: - Please leave mobile phones at home as videos and photos will not be permitted. Also, if younger siblings are getting restless during our Celebration Assemblies, please take them outside until they are calm so as not to spoil someone's special moment 🙂
Then to end a very busy week, our School Council are holding a non-uniform day on Friday £1 - Dress as a Celebrity! Get those creative juices flowing 🙂
We break up for the summer break on Friday 21st July @ 3.15pm. Voyage provision is open as normal until 5.30pm (slots need to be pre-booked)
Finally, PARTY DAYS to end the term 😊

Have a great weekend and we'll see you all on Monday for the final countdown to the six-week break.
Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂
