The R.E. coordinator at Flash Ley is Mrs Finlayson.

R.E. is taught from Nursery to Year 6. In the Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception) R.E. is taught through 'Understanding of the World (UW)' and through a Creative Curriculum in years 1-6.

Coverage of R.E. takes place through R.E. focus days and assemblies.

R.E in The Early Years

R.E. is taught through 'Understanding the World: People and Communities'.  The children learn about different festivals, communities and families.  They learn how there are similarities and differences between themselves and others and how they must be sensitive to this.

R.E. in the National Curriculum

At Flash Ley Primary School, R.E. is taught in such a way as to stimulate children’s interest and enthusiasm for RE by enabling them to learn in different ways.  We aim to develop children's awareness of different religions within both their community and the wider world.  We also aim to develop children's respect for and sensitivity to others, particularly those whose faiths and beliefs are different from their own.

Each year group enjoys different activities on each of our focus days alongside learning about the history, traditions and cultures of the people who celebrate that day.
