Early Years Foundation Stage

The Early Years Foundation Stage at Flash Ley

Our Early Years Foundation Stage prides itself on creating a nurturing environment in which all children are able to learn, grow in confidence and make many happy memories that they cherish. Our team at Flash Ley place the pupils at the heart of everything that they do.

Equal opportunities are provided through a range of activities designed to engage and stimulate the minds of the children within our setting. We work to create a setting where children feel safe and can play and explore, actively learn and create and think critically.  These opportunities are established through a multi-sensory approach to learning, which is accessible for all types of children and is designed to capture and inspire the inquisitive nature of children in Early Years.

At Flash Ley, we understand how important the Nursery and Reception years are for our children, parents and carers. For many children, it is the first time that they separate from their main carer for long periods of time. We pride ourselves on the important relationships we make with families and the extensive transition programme we have in place throughout the school year. In the Summer term, your child will spend ample time getting to know their new teachers, friends and environment. This helps to address any worries or concerns before the Summer Holidays.

Each second of everyday is a new learning opportunity for your child. The vibrant and stimulating inside and outside environments are planned to enhance, engage and encourage independent learning. WOW moments including educational visits, assemblies, class productions, stay and play sessions and our child led learning curriculum enables your child to encounter wider learning opportunities.

We use Little Wandle for our Phonics.
