Book Club

We have started our own Flash Ley book club. Each term a group of lucky readers will be the first to read our new book. We meet with Mrs Fenton to talk about the book and share some of our reading experiences.

The readers will then share their thoughts on the book in an assembly. Then other pupils can borrow the book from the library and enjoy it too!

June 2024

Our last Book Club of the year sees children reading the latest book by David Walliams. This book is written in a comic strip style and features a very naughty chip who gets sent into space!! Fingers crossed they love it so it can then be the latest addition into our library for all children to enjoy!

February 2024!

After careful consideration, our school leadership team have opted to read a book called 'Creepy Creations'. Set in a primary school, a group of children have to try and rescue their teacher!!

The children will be able to give their review of the book before World Book Day so that if children want to read it too, they can buy it for just £1 with their World Book Day token.

Autumn Term 2022

This term, hot off the press, was the book- The Night We Got Stuck In A Story.

The book contained twists and turns as we followed the main characters through into another magical world. After reading this book the children gave it 4 stars out of a possible 5 and recommended it for good readers in Years 4 and above.

Spring Term 2023

This term, released in October 2022, was the book- I Did See A Mammoth

The book follows an ambitious explorer who isn't that interested in penguins and wants to find a mammoth- which are extinct!! Check back soon to see what our young readers thought of it!

SUMMER TERM 2023

We finished off this years Secret Book Club with a magical book about a little girl who wanted to learn more about the sky. It was a charming and heart warming book.
