Spring 2022

Year 3 are currently learning about the Stone Age for their topic and for DT they constructed Stone Age round houses and long houses. This included using nets to make the main parts of the houses and making and painting stones or logs out of cardboard to attach to the walls, in order to make houses appear realistic. They also made a door with a frame that could be opened or closed. Finally, straw was glued onto the roofs to show the thatched effect that was used at the time.

Year 6 created Automatas linked to their class text Hugo. We had to design them, measure and saw wood to create the frame, before assembling it all together. We faced a few issues which we had to solve by using different materials. The finished products look great.
