The end of another week!

By now, you should all have received our amazing OFSTED report.  If you require a paper copy please do nip into the office and we can sort out one for you 🙂

So, this week: -

  • Year 4 survived camp.  They all had a great time and developed lots of new skills but had very little sleep!  Thank you to Mr Atkinson and Mrs Hepple for going with the children
  • Year 3 had fun over at Forest School on Monday
  • Year 6 danced the night away at their disco and the chippy butties went down a treat 🙂
  • X-hail sessions for KS2 focused on our own ‘self-esteem and positivity’ – everyone had a great session
  • Our Year 6 footballers did us proud over at Burton Manor on Wednesday.  Thank you to our parent volunteers who helped with transporting etc.  It's very much appreciated.  Also, to Mr Tantrum for coaching our team 😊

Please keep your eyes peeled for a letter coming out in the next few days in relation to 'volunteering' to help with school events/trips in readiness for the next academic year.

  • Year 6 spent the morning with the local paramedics on Thursday and then had an afternoon with Stafford Sports
  • We finished the week with our marvellous Year 4 Steel Pan performance.  They were amazing 🙂

End of year reports have been issued today along with attendance.

A letter has also been MM to you all giving details of class teachers etc for September 2023.  Our transition afternoon is on Monday 17th July so that children get the chance to meet their new class teacher and get familiar with arrangements in readiness for September.

Looking ahead to the final week of the Summer Term: -

  • Year 6 have Forest Schools on Monday.  They can come to school in old clothes and bring a change of footwear
  • Transition Afternoon for everyone on Monday - this is a great time for children to meet their new class teacher and to familiarise themselves with new routines, classroom, coat pegs, playgrounds etc
  • Year 6 Presentation Evening @ 5pm (ticket only)
  • EYFS/Voyage Celebration Assembly @ 9am on Tuesday.  Ticket only.  Entry through the hall doors.
  • KS1 Celebration Assembly @ 9am on Wednesday.  Entry through the hall doors.
  • Year 3, 4 and 5 Celebration Assembly @ 9am on Thursday.  Entry through the hall doors.

A polite reminder: - Please leave mobile phones at home as videos and photos will not be permitted.  Also, if younger siblings are getting restless during our Celebration Assemblies, please take them outside until they are calm so as not to spoil someone's special moment 🙂

  • Year 6 Leavers lunch will be served at lunchtime on Thursday 20th July.  The menu has been MM to everyone.  £2.30 payable via parent pay
  • It's the turn of our Reception Class to spend the afternoon with Stafford Sports on Thursday afternoon - they can come to school in their PE kits for the day
  • Ice creams for all on Thursday - £1 voluntary contribution payable to the office (cash)
  • Children have a music concert on Thursday at 1.15pm (free) for Years 1 to 6 🙂

Then to end a very busy week, our School Council are holding a non-uniform day on Friday £1 - Dress as a Celebrity!  Get those creative juices flowing 🙂

We break up for the summer break on Friday 21st July @ 3.15pm.  Voyage provision is open as normal until 5.30pm (slots need to be pre-booked)

Finally, PARTY DAYS to end the term 😊

Nursery / Reception - Friday

Year 1 / Year 2 - Thursday

Year 3 – Thursday

Year 4 – Wednesday

Year 5 – Thursday

Separate letters have been issued with party details for each class.  On PARTY DAYS, children can wear their 'PARTY CLOTHES' but please ensure they come to school in sensible shoes for break and lunchtime 🙂

That's about it.

Have a great weekend and we'll see you all on Monday for the final countdown to the six-week break.

Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂
