  • Just like that it's the end of the first half term of 2023!!

    Fri 17 Feb 2023

    We started the week with a whole school 'road safety' assembly so that we can all stay safe on our way to and from school 🙂 

     

    • Year 4 were amazing at swimming again - this will continue after the half term break 
    • Year 4 and Year 5 continued their Forest Schools learning on Monday and had a wonderful time 
    • Disco night went with a bang!  We had lots of sweaty, excited children leaving us at the end of the night 🙂 
    • Year 4 also enjoyed Tuesday morning with Chef making a fruit and vegetable salad and mastering their knife skills 
    • KS2 relaxed on Tuesday afternoon during their X-hail session 
    • School council raised a staggering £141.70  with the 'wear pink/red' on Valentines Day.  This will be put towards the board games for lunchtime 🙂 
    • Our Reception class had their first session with Stafford Sports and had an amazing time 
    • Then we rounded the week off with our Year 3 Class Assembly 

     

    And now a week off to recharge the batteries and have lots of fun with family and friends 🙂 

     

    Reminders for the first week back after half term:- 

    • School re-opens on Monday 27th February @ 8.45am 
    • It's the turn of Year 3 to spend Monday in Forest Schools enhancing their curriculum learning.  Children to wear old clothes, warm coat and bring a spare pair of shoes to change into when they are in school 
    • After School Clubs on a Tuesday and Thursday evening until 4pm start this week 😊
    • Strike Day on Wednesday 1st March - the same classes will be shut as on Wednesday 1st February - on-line learning will be issued 
    • Thursday 2nd March is WORLD BOOK DAY (a separate letter has been issued this week) 
    • Year 1 have Stafford Sports on Thursday 2nd March so can come to school in their PE kits on this day 

     

    Have a safe and enjoyable half term and we'll see you all on Monday 27th February @ 8.45am

  • What a fabulous week we've all had!!

    Fri 10 Feb 2023
    • Story telling week has gone brilliantly 🙂 A big thank you to everyone who came along to the book sale and also the 'Reading Family Workshop' on Wednesday - it was lovely to see so many of you all getting the reading bug.  Lots of fun activities have also been completed throughout the week.  Each class had a ‘surprise visitor’ who read them a book or extract from a book 😊
    • Year 4 were our swimming superstars.  Confidence is growing by the week! 
    • Year 4 and Year 5 had fun in Forest Schools enhancing their topic by being in the 'great outdoors' 
    • In X-hail, KS2 focused on exploring emotions via our senses 
    • Year 2 enjoyed their time with Stafford Sport on Thursday afternoon 

     

    Looking ahead to next week:- 

    • Year 4 have forest schools again on Monday morning then it's the turn of Year 5 in the afternoon.  Please note:- children must bring in a change of shoes as it's very muddy over there!  They also need to wear old warm clothes, have a warm coat, hat, scarf and gloves. 
    • Year 4 swimming on Monday afternoon 
    • Valentines Disco on Monday after school (separate letter has been sent).  EYFS/KS1 children who are attending the disco, can come to school in their disco clothes!!  Sensible shoes must be worn for break and lunchtime.  KS2 children to come to school in normal uniform. 
    • On Tuesday School Council are holding a Non-Uniform Day - Wear Pink or Red £1 contribution to their board games fund 🙂
    • Chef is visiting Year 4 for another amazing session on Tuesday 
    • It's the turn of Reception Class for Stafford Sports on Thursday.  Children can come to school in their PE kits on this day 
    • Friday is the turn of Year 3 Class Assembly @ 9am.  Parents are invited to come along and find out what they have been learning and up to this half term 🙂

  • Happy weekend everyone!!

    So a quick summary of 'what we've been up to this week':- 

    • House Captain Assembly introduced our Easter Competition 🙂 
    • Year 6 spent Monday over in the Forest School enhancing their curriculum learning 
    • X-hail for our KS2.  They explored all the different emotions that they have and how to deal with them :)
    • Year 1 enjoyed their Stafford Sport afternoon 
    • On Friday we celebrated NSPCC Number Day 🙂 

     

    Looking ahead to next week:- 

    • Year 4 (morning only) Forest schools and then Year 5 (afternoon only) Forest schools - children to come into school in old clothes, warm coat and a change of shoes, ie, wellies 
    • We are also celebrating STORYTELLING WEEK 
    • Book Sale after school on Monday – so bring along a few pennies 😊
    • Tuesday is SAFER INTERNET DAY 🙂 
    • Wednesday is our FAMILY READING SESSION in the hall from 3.30pm - it's lovely to see that so many families have signed up for this exciting event.  Refreshments included 🙂 
    • It's the turn of Year 2 for Stafford Sport on Thursday - children can come to school in their PE Kits

    PS:- A reminder that the Valentines Disco is fast approaching (a letter has been sent) and also on Tuesday 14th February we are organising a non uniform day, wearing either pink or red.  £1 towards our School Council pot of money 😊  They are currently saving for some bench board games for lunchtimes.

     

    IMPORTANT DATE CHANGE 

    The Mothers Day Lunch that was scheduled for Wednesday 15th March 2023 will now take place on Tuesday 14th Marcy 2023.  More details to follow nearer the time.  This will be for Reception/KS1 pupils. 

    The KS2 Mothers Day Lunch date is unchanged, ie, Wednesday 22nd March 2023.
