  • WOW!! Another very productive and busy week.

    Fri 25 Nov 2022
    • Inter-house competition was an amazing start to the week – everyone had lots of fun and got very excited 😊
    • Year 5 had a great experience and extended their knowledge further during their GREEK DAY 😊
    • Year 2 spent all day on Friday in Forest Schools

     

    Looking ahead to next week:-

    • Year 6 Shrewsbury Prison visit – please pay via PARENT PAY if you haven’t done already 😊
    • On Tuesday we are recording our Flash Ley Xmas CD – we can’t wait for that!!  A reminder that they can purchased via Parent Pay
    • Year 4 Stafford Sport on Thursday – Children can come to school in their PE kits
    • Non Uniform Day on Friday – please bring in chocolates for our chocolate tombola (which will be at our Mini Xmas Fayre on 7th December)
    • Year 6 Forest School on Friday – children need to wear old clothes, wellies or sturdy boots (as it’s very wet over there) and a waterproof 😊
    • On Friday we are holding our second NURSERY OPEN AFTERNOON for new starters in September 2023 between 1pm – 3pm – please spread the word with friends and neighbours!!

     

    A reminder that XMAS LUNCH must be pre-ordered this year.  Letters have been sent out. 

     

    *Xmas Events for each Key Stage*

    Keep your eyes peeled for letters re:- ticket allocation for each of our events;  Nursery/Reception Sing-a-long, our KS1 Xmas Around the World and our KS2 Xmas Extravaganza!!  😊 They will be issued to everyone in the next few days 😊  

     

    *Important Announcement*

    Over the next few weeks, there will be on-going works outside of school.  Temporary traffic lights will be set up and the pavement outside of school may also be closed for a short period of time.

    As soon as we have further details, we will communicate with you all via MM and Facebook – so keep your eyes peeled.

     

    *Fundraising reminder*

    Please remember to use #easyfundraising when you do your Christmas shopping. 

    Over 7,000 brands will donate to Flash Ley Community Primary School - Stafford at no extra cost to you - so you can raise donations when you buy gifts, decorations, your festive food shopping or anything else!

    • Reminder that 'BAGS 2 SCHOOLS' need to be in school by Wednesday 30th November at the very latest 🙂 

     

    • Xmas orders for wrapping paper, coasters, xmas cards, cushions etc are being issued over the next few days 🙂 They all look absolutely amazing - we will definitely be using this company again next year.

  • Wow! What a jam-packed week we've all had. The highlights of this week are:-

    Fri 18 Nov 2022
    • A big 'thank you' to everyone who attended our PACT session on Monday - we loved seeing so many of you in and around school 🙂 

     

    • Maths Week- lots of fun, engaging Maths activities around our theme of Fractions. The winners of the TTRockstars competition will be announced next week! 

     

    • Whole School Writing Focus linking to books focusing on real life themes - lots of lovely pieces of writing were produced - we are all super proud of the effort you are putting in!

     

    • X-hail sessions were enjoyed by our KS2 pupils 

     

    • Year 3 had lots of fun during their afternoon with Stafford Sports 

     

    • Everyone looked amazing for our CHILDREN IN DAY charity day 

     

    • Year 4 had a great day in Forest Schools on Friday 

     

    • All children have taken part in Anti-Bullying Week which has tied in nicely with our book themes.

     

    Looking ahead to next week:- 

     

    • House Captains are holding their termly inter-house competition on Monday 

     

    • Year 5 swimming 

     

    • After School Club on Wednesday and Thursday as normal 

     

    • It's the turn of our Year 1 to have an afternoon with Stafford Sport.  Children can come to school in their PE kits 

     

    • Forest School Friday is Year 2 all day.  Children can come to school in old clothes, wellies or sturdy boots and a waterproof. 

     

    Please spread the word - it's our NURSERY OPEN MORNING on Friday 25th November from 9.30am - 12.  

     

    Xmas Lunch letter has been issued today - ALL XMAS LUNCHES MUST BE PRE-ORDERED.  See letter for further details.

  • Another busy week

    Another super busy and productive week had by all! 🙂 

     

    A very special SHOUT OUT to The Kings Arms, Peel Terrace, Stafford who very kindly supplied our Year 1 and Year 2 children with pumpkins for their soup making and various crafts🙂 

     

    Year 6 and Year 3 were amazing and learnt lots of skills during their bikeability - we are super proud of you all! 🙂 

    Year 5 enjoyed their Stafford Sports session on Thursday 

    Year 1 had great fun in the Forest Schools on Friday 

     

    So looking ahead to next week:- 

     

    Important

    There are NO after school clubs on Wednesday 16th November.  They will be back as normal next week.  Thursday after school clubs will run as normal.

     

    Year 1 - Year 6 PACT session on Monday 14th November from 2.15pm.  Parents/carers welcome.  Please leave mobile phones at home.  

    PLEASE NOTE:- Year 5 are SWIMMING until 2.30pm so their PACT session will start at 2.35pm

     

    Laches Wood Information Session (Year 6 parents) on Monday 14th November at 3.15pm (straight after PACT)

     

    Year 3 are having Stafford Sports on Thursday so can come to school in their PE kits 

     

    Forest School Friday is the turn of our Year 4 children.  They can come to school in old clothes, wellies or sturdy boots and a waterproof 

     

    Next week we are celebrating MATHS WEEK and also we are having a whole school 'writing' focus 🙂 More updates to follow on this via MM and Facebook

     

    Last but not least, it's CHILDREN IN NEED on Friday 18th November - all money contributed will go to this very worthy charity. This can be paid via Parent pay 🙂

  • Fantastic Start to the Half Term

    What a fantastic start to this half term!! 

     

    • Film Night was enjoyed by all who attended - a big thank you to all staff who helped 🙂 
    • Reception/Year 1 phonics workshop - very positive comments received from those who attended.  We hope you found the information given useful. 
    • Thanks to those parents who attended the termly parents forum – very positive feedback 😊
    • Forest School Friday was a great success with all classes spending time around a bonfire and having a few treats 🙂 

     

    Looking ahead to next week:- 

    • Year 5 Swimming on Monday 
    • Year 6 bikeability on Monday and Tuesday - more details have been sent via MM 
    • Year 3 bikeability on Tuesday only - more details have been sent via MM 
    • It's the turn of our Year 5 children to have an afternoon of sports on THURSDAY 10th NOVEMBER - they can all come to school in their PE kits 
    • Forest School Forest is the turn of our Year 1 class - children need to come to school in their old clothes, wearing sturdy boots or wellies and a waterproof.  
    • After School Clubs on a Wednesday and Thursday start again - prompt pick up at 4pm 🙂 

     

    A reminder that the PANTOMINE LETTER has gone out this week.  We appreciate that with the 'cost of living crisis' and with Santa just around the corner that finances may be tight - so to cut down on the cost , we have opted for the panto to visit us at Flash Ley.  This has reduced costings per child considerably.   If you are struggling, then please do speak to me and we will help whenever we can.  

     

    Forward planning reminder:- 

    Monday 14th November is our PACT SESSION - parents/carers invited into school to take a look at the amazing work that has been produced!! 2.15pm until the end of the school day 

     

    Friday 18th November - CHILDREN IN NEED - children can wear anything 'pudsey bear related' and bring a £1 to this amazing charity 🙂
