  • So, the end of our first full school week!!  Another cracking week!! :)

    Fri 12 Sep 2025
    • A reminder to make sure you write names in new clothes as we have a number of items without names in them and it's a shame that new clothing is lost in the 2nd week :)

    • A polite reminder that if your child is sick, then they need to be off school for 48 hours.  We have a couple of vulnerable staff and pupils so need to ensure we are protecting our Flash Ley family - thanks for your support in this :)

    • The noticeboard outside of KS2 has been updated with all PE days, contact emails and Dates for Autumn for EYFS/KS1 and KS2 - so a good reference point if you are unsure of day to day bits n bobs

    • Dates for Autumn have now been issued and are on our website/school calendar.  There are still a few dates to add :)

    • The Panto Letter has gone out this week so that everyone can start paying rather than waiting until Xmas as we know how expensive December is!!

    • Progressive Sports 'Nerf Wars' Letter for Year 4 - 6 only has been issued - places allocated on a first come, first served basis and are limited :)   This club may be opened up to Year 3 (we just need to double check numbers first) :)

So, this week looked a bit like this: -

Year 3 were busy with their 'stepping out' assessments so that they have a good knowledge of road safety.  A big 'thank you' to Mrs Tuach who helped out.

Year 4 experienced their first swimming lesson - they were very brave and tried their very hardest - they all did amazing and got dressed in super quick time, both Mrs Locke and I were really impressed 🙂

Year 5 had a great time on Tuesday afternoon with Progressive Sport learning Archery.

Year 4 enjoyed their time over at Forest School.  Due to the weather, the Year 3 Forest School session was moved inside, however, everyone still had loads of fun and lots of learning took place

Looking ahead to next week: -

    • Year 4 swimming on Monday - girls must wear a swimming hat and earrings must be removed before school in the morning so they don't get lost

    • Year 3 have Progressive Sports on Wednesday afternoon so can come to school in their PE Kits

    • Year 1 have Forest Schools all day on Thursday - children can come to school in OLD clothes, a coat and bring a change of footwear

    • Friday 19th September we are supporting Jeans for Genes (separate letter has been sent with further details).  To summarise, children can come to school in jeans or denim skirt with school jumper and school shoes.  Those children not donating to come to school in normal school uniform 🙂

After school clubs will start in a few weeks’ time and will continue to be on a Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm.  Progressive Sports will continue to offer a paid club which will be on a Wednesday until 4pm - letters have been sent to Year 4 - 6 in the first instance.  Places offered on a first come, first served basis.

Have a lovely weekend, recharge those batteries and spend time doing what makes you happy

We have lots of new families joining our FL community in September, so if you see anyone who appears to be lost, please do direct them to the correct location.  🤣🤣. Mrs Locke and I will be out as normal to welcome and direct as well 👍

Now it's time to rest, recharge the batteries and make lots of memories.  Do lots of things that make you happy!!

Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂

  • What a scorching end to the week, but we all survived!!! 🙂

    Fri 11 Jul 2025

Please note: - this will be the last weekly summary for this academic year! 🙂

So, this week looked about like this: -

    • Year 4 swimming on Monday - there is a session next week 🙂

    • All classes got to spend the morning or afternoon with their new teacher for September - more details re: - PE days etc will be sent to you all on our INSET DAY so that it's fresh in everyone's mind

    • Year 4 had an enjoyable time with Progressive Sports on Tuesday afternoon

    • Year 2 & 6 were at Forest Schools on Thursday - this is the last session for this academic year

    • A big thank you to everyone who supported our Summer Fayre - once we have a final total, we will let you all know

A big 'shout out' to Miss Young for organising all the stalls and to staff/parent volunteers who stayed to man the stalls.

    It's very much appreciated!!

    • We bounced our way to the end of the week!!  🙂 Once again raising lots of funds for school which is so desperately needed - once we have a total, we will let you know

The raffle will be drawn on Tuesday of next week and any winners will be contacted so that you can collect your prize 🙂

    • Reports have been issued today 🙂

Looking ahead to next week: -

    • Temperatures are still set to be scorching on Monday 14th July so all children can come to school in their PE kit (no football shirts), sun hat and water bottle.  Sun lotion to be applied before coming to school.

    • All staff will be available until 4.30pm on Monday 14th July 2025 to answer any questions in relation to the 'annual reports'

    • Mrs Slade-Nowell (Year 4 in September) will be available on Tuesday 2nd September at 3.30pm for any parents who wish to have a chat with her or get to meet her  at the end of the school day🙂

      • EYFS/Nursery @ 10.30am on Monday 14th July
      • Year 1 and Year 2 @ 9am on Tuesday 15th July

A reminder that we are a 'no mobile phone school' so mobiles need to be kept in pockets/bags or even better left at home.

    • Tuesday/Wednesday normal school uniform

    • Year 6 Leavers Assembly on Wednesday 16th July - separate letter sent and tickets issued.  Prompt start at 5pm

    • Children have requested 'picnic lunches' next week rather than hot dinners - so we are serving 'picnic lunches' on Thursday of next week 🙂

    • Our last day of term is Thursday 17th July.  We are holding a PARTY DAY and have the ice-cream van @ 10am for all children.  Children can come in non-uniform on this day (football shirts are allowed).    Sensible shoes to be worn as children will be outside at lunch and break
    • Contributions for the Ice-cream of £1 per child 🙂

Please note: - No progressive Sports or Forest Schools this week.  All after school clubs have finished so prompt collection at 3.15pm.   Traffic around Stafford is still horrendous, so please do leave additional time for the 'school run' particularly on Thursday so that we can all get the Summer Jollibobs started 🙂

Have a great weekend.  Just 4 more get ups to go!!!

Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂

  • So, another busy week in the bag 🙂

    Fri 04 Jul 2025

We have work starting on Monday for a replacement perimeter fence so please be mindful of this when coming on and off site

To clarify: - As a healthy school we promote water in water bottles, however, we do acknowledge that some children don't like water, in which case 'sugar free' juice is fine, particularly with the hot weather at the moment.  I do hope this clears up any confusion.

    • Year 4 cooled down in the pool on Monday

    • Thanks to those parents who took time out of their busy day to attend our Parents Forum - another very productive meeting was had by all

    • Year 3 coffee morning was a great success - lots of positive comments from parents and the children loved it too - we'll roll these out across school in the next academic year 🙂

    • Year 3 enjoyed Progressive Sports on Tuesday afternoon

    • Year 4 had a smashing day over at Forest Schools on Thursday

    • Thanks to everyone for the contribution of chocolates/sweets for our Summer Fayre - very much appreciated

So, looking ahead to next week: -

    • All after school clubs have now finished for this academic year - please collect children promptly at 3.15pm at the end of each day.  Allow extra time to get to school due to the local roadworks causing chaos and lots of additional traffic around the area.

    • Year 4 swimming as normal on Monday

    • Year 4 Progressive Sports on Tuesday afternoon.  Children can come to school in their PE kits for the day

    • Year 3 Transition Morning on Tuesday morning - so everyone will all get the opportunity to meet Mrs Slade-Nowell 🙂

    • Summer Fayre on Wednesday @ 3.30pm - 4.30pm - please come along to support us in raising much needed funds for school and your children

    • Forest Schools on Thursday - Year 2 in the morning and Year 6 in the afternoon 🙂  Children can come to school in their old clothes and a change of footwear

    • Transition Afternoon on Thursday - children spend the afternoon meeting their new class teacher for September 2025 🙂 Collection as normal

    • Bouncy Castle on Friday 11th July (see separate letter)

    • Friday - end of term reports will be issued at the end of the day

Your help needed please (a little job for the weekend) 🙂

As we are approaching the end of the academic year, if you are having a sort out of 'school uniform' and have any items that are in 'good/excellent' condition, then please bring into the school office.  We can then do our 'be-loved uniform table' again in readiness for September 2025.   Thanks everyone 🙂

    Have an enjoyable weekend

Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂
