So, the end of our first full school week!!  Another cracking week!! :)

  • A reminder to make sure you write names in new clothes as we have a number of items without names in them and it's a shame that new clothing is lost in the 2nd week :)

  • A polite reminder that if your child is sick, then they need to be off school for 48 hours.  We have a couple of vulnerable staff and pupils so need to ensure we are protecting our Flash Ley family - thanks for your support in this :)

  • The noticeboard outside of KS2 has been updated with all PE days, contact emails and Dates for Autumn for EYFS/KS1 and KS2 - so a good reference point if you are unsure of day to day bits n bobs

  • Dates for Autumn have now been issued and are on our website/school calendar.  There are still a few dates to add :)

  • The Panto Letter has gone out this week so that everyone can start paying rather than waiting until Xmas as we know how expensive December is!!

  • Progressive Sports 'Nerf Wars' Letter for Year 4 - 6 only has been issued - places allocated on a first come, first served basis and are limited :)   This club may be opened up to Year 3 (we just need to double check numbers first) :)

So, this week looked a bit like this: -

Year 3 were busy with their 'stepping out' assessments so that they have a good knowledge of road safety.  A big 'thank you' to Mrs Tuach who helped out.

Year 4 experienced their first swimming lesson - they were very brave and tried their very hardest - they all did amazing and got dressed in super quick time, both Mrs Locke and I were really impressed 🙂

Year 5 had a great time on Tuesday afternoon with Progressive Sport learning Archery.

Year 4 enjoyed their time over at Forest School.  Due to the weather, the Year 3 Forest School session was moved inside, however, everyone still had loads of fun and lots of learning took place

Looking ahead to next week: -

  • Year 4 swimming on Monday - girls must wear a swimming hat and earrings must be removed before school in the morning so they don't get lost

  • Year 3 have Progressive Sports on Wednesday afternoon so can come to school in their PE Kits

  • Year 1 have Forest Schools all day on Thursday - children can come to school in OLD clothes, a coat and bring a change of footwear

  • Friday 19th September we are supporting Jeans for Genes (separate letter has been sent with further details).  To summarise, children can come to school in jeans or denim skirt with school jumper and school shoes.  Those children not donating to come to school in normal school uniform 🙂

After school clubs will start in a few weeks’ time and will continue to be on a Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm.  Progressive Sports will continue to offer a paid club which will be on a Wednesday until 4pm - letters have been sent to Year 4 - 6 in the first instance.  Places offered on a first come, first served basis.

Have a lovely weekend, recharge those batteries and spend time doing what makes you happy

Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂
