It's half term :)

A polite reminder that the school site is only open to '2-legged people' not our '4 legged friends' :) No dogs allowed on site.

A reminder to our current Year 6 parents, Secondary Applications close on 31st October 2025 and we've noticed that a few of you haven't yet selected your high school preferences

A reminder that the vehicular access is closed to cars from 8.35am to 9am to ensure that parents/children coming to school on foot are safe when coming on and off site.  At the end of the day, vehicular access will be closed off from 3pm until 3.25pm.   Thanks for your continued support in this.

Looking ahead to Reception next year, Reception Applications open on 1st November 2025 for any Nursery Children who wish to attend our Reception Class in 2026.

Our next PTFA meeting will be held on Friday 14th November @ 9am when we will be organising our Xmas Fayre :) It would be lovely to see a few new faces.  We would love to go 'big' but we need parent volunteers to make this happen.

So, this week looked a bit like this: -

Reception/Nursery braved the weather on Monday to pick their pumpkins :)

Year 4 have made great progress and are getting much more confident in their swimming lessons :)  These will continue after half term

Everyone danced the night away at our Halloween Disco on Monday - a big thank you to staff who stayed to man the event and to Natalie in the kitchen who made our gorgeous Halloween themed snacks and also a delicious lunch :)

A big 'thank you' to our Year 3 parents who took time out of their busy days to have brekkie with the School Council, Miss Bunn, Natalie and her kitchen team and your lovely children - everyone really enjoyed it :)     We received several 5* ratings :)

Year 5 will be the next year group for this event to happen in Autumn 2 - keep your eyes peeled for a letter to get booked on 🙂

Reception had great fun in Progressive Sports on Wednesday

Year 4 and Reception class enjoyed their time over at Forest Schools enhancing their curriculum learning further Year 4 were learning about invasions and the day to day life of a Viking raider, looking at the basic human needs of shelter, fire and foraging for food.

Meanwhile, Reception explored food as fuel to power out bodies, where our food comes from and why healthy eating is so important :)

We finished an amazing fun filled week by raising money for our wonderful School Council by 'Dressing in something fancy', and boy did we all look fantastic.  An amazing end to a great half term.

Looking ahead to next week: -

  • A reminder there are NO Tuesday or Thursday after school clubs first week back due to PARENTS EVENING - all children to be collected at 3.15pm.

  • The Progressive Sports After School Club on Wednesday will go ahead as normal for those children who have paid for this.

  • Progressive Sports on Wednesday 5th November will be the turn of Year 3.  Children can come to school in their PE Kits for the day

  • Forest Schools on Thursday 6th November will be the turn of Year 6.  Children can come to school in old clothes, bring a change of sturdy footwear and coats as they will spend all day in the outdoors 🙂

  • Parents Evening will be held on Thursday 6th November from 2.30pm.  Slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  ALL children will be released at the normal end time of 3.15pm not before due to staffing and safeguarding.

Now time to rest, recharge the batteries and have lots of fun with family and friends over the half term holiday.

Stay safe, take care and we'll see you all on Monday 3rd November 2025.

Mrs B and the FL Team :)
