Believe to Achieve

Another week flies by!!

A reminder that the school day starts at 8.40am.  Some children are arriving at 8.10am which is far too early.  The gates don't open until 8.35am so please do not arrive on site until 8.30am at the very earliest. Thanks for your co-operation in this.

  • This week has been all about our fabulous YEAR 2 pupils.  They have now completed their SATS so have lots of fun activities planned for the rest of the term 🙂
  • Year 5 and Year 1 had a blast over at Forest Schools on Monday - these sessions enhance our pupils' personal development along with broaden their knowledge of their curriculum/topic area
  • Thanks to all of you who attended a very COLD JUNE SPORTS DAY.  Everyone had lots of fun.  A big thank you to staff and parent volunteers who helped make the day run very smoothly 🙂
  • Watch Me Learn - Year 5 was cancelled due to staff illness.  A new date will be issued in due course
  • Year 4 performed at Staffs County Showground on Wednesday for their Steel Pans 🙂 They were amazing.  Thanks to those parents who went along to show their support
  • PTFA had a successful meeting on Wednesday - final arrangements have now been made for our Summer Fair on Wednesday 3rd July - we just need a sunny, warm day 🙂
  • Year 5/6 Football Team represented Flash Ley on Friday - they made us all proud 🙂 Thanks to Mr Atkinson and Mrs Hepple along with parent volunteers who went along to support and made this event possible.
  • Year 3 spent an incredible day with an ARTIST on Friday - they spent the day making sculptures with an Anglo-Saxon theme which is linked to their curriculum topic
  • We finished the week with DRESS LIKE A ROCKSTAR - everyone looked amazing 🙂

Please note: - ALL After School Clubs have now finished until SEPTEMBER with the exception of FENCING on a Tuesday 🙂 Children to be collected at normal school finish time of 3.15pm.  Children attending FENCING to be collected promptly at 4pm.

Next week looks a bit like this: -

  • Year 4 Swimming on Monday as normal - reminder no jewellery or sports bands (boys)
  • Forest Schools on Monday is the turn of Year 2 in the morning and Year 3 in the afternoon.  Children can wear old clothes.  If the warm weather continues over the weekend into next week, children need to bring a sun hat and also have sun lotion applied before coming into school
  • Year 1 have Progressive Sports on Tuesday afternoon.  Children to come to school in their PE kit
  • Year 4 have a visit from CHEF on Wednesday
  • It's the turn of our Year 6 pupils for WATCH ME LEARN.  A reminder to leave mobile phones at home and only one adult to attend per family.  Please don't attend if you don't have children in Year 6 as we have limited space

Have a great weekend, make the most of this beautiful weather.

See you all on Monday

Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂
