  • Happy Friday!!! 🙂

    Fri 17 May 2024

This week has been all about our amazing YEAR 6 SUPERSTARS who have completed their SATS this week.

You have made us all so proud.  You've worked your socks off and we could not have asked anymore of any of you.  Have a well-deserved rest this weekend and then it's time to enjoy the rest of your final weeks in YEAR 6 at FL.  🙂 🙂 🙂 Lots of lovely activities planned 🙂

A special mention to all staff who have helped prepare the children, supervised the tests and to Mrs Rowley in the kitchen for preparing an amazing breakfast selection each morning.   It certainly set us all up for the day

The rest of this week: -

Year 1 had fun over at Forest School and trying out Tri-Golf with Progressive Sport on Tuesday 🙂

Looking ahead to the final week of this half term: -

    • It's the turn of Year 4 to spend the day over at Forest School on Monday.  No Swimming now until after half term.  Please wear old clothes and bring a change of footwear.  Suntan lotion needs to be applied at home please and if it's warm a sun hat would be useful

    • Reception class have Progressive Sports on Tuesday afternoon.  Children can wear their PE kits.

    • After School Clubs as normal on Tuesday/Thursday.  Prompt collection at 4pm

    • On Thursday, Year 6 have their Road Safety (transition to High School) session

    • On Friday, our School Council are holding a NON-UNIFORM DAY.  The theme is CRAZY HAIR 🙂 in exchange for a bottle (no empty ones please) 🙂 for our SUMMER FAYRE

    • A reminder, we break up for the May half term on Friday 24th May @ 3.15pm.  Prompt collection @ 3.15pm so we can all begin our well-earned rest - it's been a very busy 7 weeks 🙂

Have a lovely weekend and see you all on Monday.

Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂

  • At last the sun is shining and we could get on the field!!! 🙂

    Fri 10 May 2024

So, it may have been a short week, but it's certainly been another busy one!!

    • After School Clubs began this week and everyone had lots of fun - thanks to staff who volunteer to run these clubs in their own time 🙂
    • Watch me Learn sessions for Year 1 and Year 2 were well attended - we hope you enjoyed coming into school.  We all enjoyed having you join us
    • Various road safety activities took place during the week for our Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 children.  Many thanks to our many parent volunteers who helped the children complete their road safety walk around the local area.  We couldn't have done this without you.
    • Year 2 enjoyed 'tri-golf' during their Progressive Sports weather - hopefully now with the warmer weather, we may be able to take PE and Progressive Sports sessions outdoors - fingers crossed
    • On Tuesday morning our GOTTA DANCE GROUP performed to those parents who couldn't make the actual event - many thanks again to Miss Young and Mrs Sargeant for your hard work in making this event happen and such a success 🙂
    • We held our first PTFA meeting on Wednesday.  We have big plans for the SUMMER FAYRE on 3rd July, however, we still need volunteers to run a few stalls - otherwise we will need to scale down the number of stalls that we have which would be a shame.  We need vital funds for our school and children so please if you can spare an hour or two on 3rd July, let myself or Miss Young know and we'll add you to our list
    • RAFFLE PRIZES - if any parents have contact with any local companies or businesses who may be willing to donate a raffle prize or two, please let us know 🙂

Looking ahead to next week: -

    • Year 6 SATS all week.  Year 6 children need to arrive at 8.15am (via main reception) NO EARLIER in readiness for their free breakfast

A thank you to staff who are manning the kitchen and helping to prepare breakfast 🙂

    • Year 1 have Forest Schools on Monday - children need to come in their old clothes and bring a change of footwear for inside of school as it's still a little muddy over there
    • Year 4 swimming on Monday afternoon as normal
    • After Schools clubs on Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm as normal
    • Year 1 also have Progressive Sports on Tuesday afternoon.  Children to wear PE kits

And that's about it for this week.

If the weather does continue into next week, please pop some suntan lotion on your child before they come into school and also make sure they have their water bottle and sun hat with them.

Have a lovely restful, sunny weekend - do what makes you happy 🙂
