On Monday 1st April the School Council performed an assembly.  They told all of Flash Ley the Easter story and told them about different Easter traditions from around the world.

Islam and Christianity Conference
On Friday 8th March the Minpins, Midnight Gang and The Fellowship learnt all about Christianity and Islam.  Outside providers spent a whole morning with the children teaching them important facts about these two religions.

Flash Ley celebrated Chinese New Year on Tuesday 5th February. 

 

All of the children were told the Chinese New Year story and various activities took place in different year groups.  The activities ranged from tasting Chinese food, using chopsticks, writing numerals in Chinese, making dragons, finding out what animal year they were born in and what the characteristics for that animal were to making charcoal and using it to make Chinese New Year pictures.

Christmas at Flash Ley

 

The children of Flash Ley have all enjoyed  numerous activities based on the Christian festival of Christmas.  They have performed plays and carols to audiences, learnt the Christmas story, produced some fantastic written and art work and explored the true meaning of Christmas.

On Monday 3rd December the school council led an assembly. They told the pupils of Flash Ley all about Advent and the Jewish festival Hannukah.

On Thursday 25th October the children of Flash Ley learnt all about Diwali.  All classes made diya lamps and heard the story of Rama and Sita.
On Friday 19th October 2018 Flash Ley celebrated the Christian festival of Harvest.

The school council performed a Harvest assembly to the whole school, this included a Harvest play. Donations of food from our Flash Ley family were displayed.

The food donated was distributed to the local food bank at Rising Brook church and also special boxes were made up for people in the local community who had been nominated for by our parents.
