Welcome to Year 5.

Your Class Teachers are Mrs Holloway and Miss Bunn.

Your Teaching Assistant is Mrs Robinson.

On this page you will find information about our class.

Look at our amazing clay masks!

Our amazing trip to Twycross Zoo during which we learned about biodiversity and conservation. A fabulous day and the weather stayed dry!

Mad Science Day!

Year 5 had a fantastic day. They began with learning about pollution in the sea and then they constructed boats strong enough to hold a lot of weight before they sank. The competition was very fierce! In the afternoon, they had a mad science show!

                World Book Day!

What a fabulous day we had! It started with an assembly where Mrs Holloway and Mr Bamber had an 'author-off' against each other. Mrs Holloway's author was Julia Donaldson but sadly she lost to Mr Bamber who had chosen William Shakespeare!

Throughout the morning, Y5 had lots of reading challenges to complete, and they had great fun. Take a look at them! The children also paired up with Y2 to share stories. In the afternoon, they made bookmarks and watched an author masterclass.

                                        PACT February

                                     Ivan meets the Chef!

The Midnight Gang had a fantastic day with the chef and made food based on their book,The One and Only Ivan. In the morning they made pretzels and in the afternoon they practised cutting fruit and tasted some exotic fruits. The chef made raspberry ripple and banana ice-cream; it was scrumptious! At the end of the day, the children even did their own washing up.

                                                Safe 'n' Sound

Year 5 visited Stafford Fire Station where they learned about all aspects of safety: keeping money safe, internet safety, safety on the railway, truck safety and fire safety. They learned so much and had a lot of fun, especially when they climbed in the truck to look for the blind spots.

We are making clay masks at the moment in Y5. Take another look soon to see the final look!
Take a look at the photos of our visit to Blists Hill Museum.
