It is really important that you don't forget you can do other activities that will support you both academically and mentally while you learn at home.

This could include:

  • Learning to cook
  • Going for a walk
  • Playing a board game/Creating a board game
  • Playing in the garden
  • Planting flowers
  • Listening to music
  • Learn a new skill e.g. yoyo

Developing your child’s independence and life skills is an important part of your child’s development. Below are some ideas for how you can develop these at home.

Life and Living Skills:

  •  Dressing and undressing independently;
  • Brushing their teeth independently;
  •  Combing hair independently;
  • Washing body parts during bath time independently;
  • Drying their body parts after bath time independently;
  • Tying their shoe laces indepdently;
  • Help washing up after dinner time;
  • Being involved in cooking activities;
  •  Making their bed;
  •  Playing with siblings at home, developing interaction skills

In the Wizards we also love to take 'Wake and Shake' breaks. If you need a five minute jump around to get your body moving and help re-focus then here are a few links to some of our class favourites:
