Weekly Summary 6 February 2026
Another busy week at FL!!! π
Exciting News
Work is starting on Monday to refurbish our EYFS outdoor learning area - when it's finished, we'll post pictures and might even hold an 'outdoor Stay n Play when it's a bit warmer π
NURSERY CHILDREN ONLY
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to come through the hall doors @ 8.35am due to the Nursery floor being re-done.

A 'big thank you' to those parents who took time out of their busy day to come into school to take part in our 'Watch Me Learn Sessions' for Year 1 & 2 - it was lovely to see so many of you!!! Feedback was amazing and we all really enjoyed having you watch us learnπ More year groups next week so take a look at the diary dates so you don't miss out (letters have gone out to relevant year groups)
- Year 3 enjoyed their boxing session with Progressive Sports - this is part of our 'enrichment' offer which goes above and beyond the national curriculum - lots of new moves and skills are being mastered π
- Our Mindfulness Ninjas looked at the benefits of slowing down! They used movement first then had a lovely meditation to calm the mind π
- Year 4 had a great day of learning over at Forest Schools/in the hall (due to the awful weather) on Thursday. Learning centred around 'mountains and rivers and also States of Matter - mainly the 'water cycle'
- We ended the week with our SEN Coffee morning and also our whole school Number Day. KS2 took part in a TT Rockstars competition and all maths lessons were based on digits and experimenting with numbers π
Looking ahead to next week: -
- After School Clubs as normal this week - prompt collection at 4pm. A reminder if children miss 2 sessions, then their space will be automatically offered to someone else on the waiting list - as spaces are valuable π
- We are starting the week with our 'Safer Internet Day whole school Assembly' based around AI (children only)
- Reception has 'eye screening' on Monday - a separate letter has been sent out
- Year 4 swimming as normal - a reminder any jewellery must be left at home in the morning so that we don't lose anything whilst getting changed
- Tuesday is the turn of Year 3 Watch Me Learn @ 2.30pm (one parent per family only and strictly no mobile phones). Children will be dismissed at the normal finish time of 3.15pm
- Year 1 have Progressive Sports on Wednesday - children can come to school in their PE kits
- Watch Me Learn for Year 5 is on Wednesday @ 9am (one parent per family only and strictly no mobile phones).
- Watch Me Learn for Year 6 is on Thursday @ 9am (one parent per family only and strictly no mobile phones)
- Forest Schools on Thursday is the turn of: – Year 5 in the morning and Year 3 in the afternoon - children to wear old, warm clothes and must bring a change of sturdy footwear
- On Friday, we end the week with ERIC (Everyone Reads in Class) - one parent per child only due to limited space in the classroom - to come into school to share a book with your child before the start of the school day - EYFS/Year 1 and Year 2 only - 8.40am - 9am only. Strictly no mobile phones.
- Last day of term on Friday 13th February 2026 - Non uniform Day but children must have their legs covered with either trousers, leggings or joggers (NOT SHORTS) as we have our Valentines Disco Bounce. Please pay on PARENT PAY for the Valentines Event (letter sent out last week). No football kits/shirts allowed!!
- Special Valentines Day Menu on Friday 13th February - menu has been J2E'd to everyone and also is available on Facebook π Pay in the normal way on 'PARENT PAY'
