Weekly Summary 23 January 2026
Another week flies by!!
Lots of purposeful learning happening around school and the corridors are buzzing with friendship, laughter and happy children 🙂
Another big 'thank you' to our School Council and Miss Bunn for conducting another litter pick around our school grounds. Much less litter collected this week than last. Thanks everyone, let's make sure we see even less litter next week 🙂
A reminder that Teddy in Year 4 has nearly completed his mile a day challenge raising money for the amazing Katherine House Hospice - If you can spare a few pounds, please support him (details on our facebook page) 🙂 He has 2 members of staff running with him on Monday - I wonder who they could be? 🙂
This week, we've had visitors from other schools into our school to showcase all the amazing things we do at Flash Ley along with our fantastic children. It was lovely to welcome different schools into our classes to 'show off' our learning of phonics, maths and our sensory rooms. The children loved it too 🙂
Diary dates have now been issued on J2E, popped on our website and our school calendar. More details to follow on some events 🙂
After school clubs are still being sorted so if you haven't received notification as to which club your child has a place on you will get this next week. Remember 2 missed sessions and the place will be offered to someone else. A reminder: - Prompt collection at 4pm.
So, this week: -
- Swimmers all doing well 🙂
- Our mindfulness Ninjas enjoyed their session on Wednesday they focussed on 'what makes us unique'. They explored using their superhero breaths as they thought about their superpower 🙂 Everyone was extremely relaxed after
- Reception had fun with Progressive Sports with their dodging and weaving in boxing 🙂 There were some great little movers
- Year 6 and Reception enhanced their curriculum learning in the great outdoors - and braved the wet weather. Year 6 had a session focusing on 'all things electricity'. Reception learnt about Wolves for their story - Little Red Riding Hood 🙂
Looking ahead to next week: -
- Swimming Year 4 Monday
- Progressive Sports on Wednesday for Year 2 (PE kits to be worn pls)
- Year 2 Forest Schools all day on Thursday - old warm clothes and a change of footwear a must
After school clubs start this week - Tuesday and Thursday - prompt collection at 4pm
A reminder that staff run these clubs in their own time - so a big 'shout out' and 'thank you' 🙂
That's about it - see you Monday to do it all again 🙂
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂
