Believe to Achieve

This year our homework is personalised to meet the needs of individual children.

Each child has their reading book based on their comprehension skills and they will access this through Accelerated Reader. The expectation is that they read their book x4 a week and a book

should be completed within 2 weeks.

We use a grammar website called Your child has their unique username and password where the work is set for them to complete. This will link to their GPS test at the end of the year. Teachers will see how well the children have completed the tasks and can revisit skills during lessons.

Each Monday a set of spellings is given out. During school time we look at these spellings for patterns, synonyms, definitions etc. There will be a test on a Friday of the same week. Any child scoring below a 7/10 will practise them again during Golden Time. The expectation is that they are practising these at home during the week.

We use a programme called Prodigy which baselines the children on objectives they need to cover. Through games and activities it will automatically move them to harder questions as they progress. It sends the teachers reports on how well they are doing. Parents have also been sent log in details where you can see the progress they are making.

Timestables are fundemental to many units in maths. We use TTRockstars to improve the children's fluency and recall of timestables. The programme will assess where the children are at and work on their areas of development. Reports are then sent to the teachers on which timestables are the weakest area for us to practise in class during our Maths Meetings.
