Weekly Summary 26 June 2026

What a scorcher of a week!! ♨️🥵

I will never complain about being cold again 🤣🤣 We survived the week by making adjustments to make us all as comfortable as we could be.  Much cooler next week, just need the weather to be kind for Tuesday (sports day) 🤞🤞

So, this week at a glance: -

  • Swimming - Year 4 - amazing as always
  • Year 6 had a blast at Alton Towers - again lovely comments on children's behaviour etc whilst out representing FL.
  • Year 5 enjoyed a couple of sessions over at Stafford Manor - a big shout out to them all as I received a few lovely emails from staff at Stafford Manor complimenting the children on how kind and polite they all were.  A very proud HT moment 💕
  • On Wednesday we welcomed our 'newbies' for September into school for our 'Stay n Play'.  Our Nursery children also started their transition into Reception - this will continue over the next few weeks.  Thanks to those parents who came along for the information sessions which provided valuable information for September and a few little tasks for over the Summer 🌞🌞
  • Thanks to you all for your understanding over the flexible arrangements towards the end of the week.  The DFE guidance schools must stay open but we were aware a few of you were concerned re Extreme heat etc so we hope the flexible arrangements pleased you all 🙈
  • Year 5 enjoyed their Progressive Sports session which was moved inside due to the heat.
  • Year 5 and Year 6 also enjoyed a slightly different Forest Schools session as that was also moved into the hall out of the extreme heat.   Year 4 also jumped in on the fun
  • Year 2 received their second session of MOOD BEARS on Thursday exploring those tricky emotions.  Year 1 jumped in on the session as well 🙂
