Weekly Summary 16th January 2026

The end of our first full week 🙂

  • A polite reminder that the end of the school day is 3.15pm.  Children need to be collected promptly as staff have staff meetings, training, personal commitments and other bits n bobs to do straight after school.  We've had a few incidents since the New Year of lateness by up to 20 mins.  This is unacceptable.  Please arrange to collect promptly at 3.15pm.
  • So, all classes should by now have received via J2E a copy of this term's 'Class Newsletter' giving information in relation to curriculum learning etc 🙂
  • EYFS Topic Overview has gone out in the planner earlier in the week
  • Mrs Sargeant is working her way around each class to deliver a Mindfulness Session to remind children of different strategies they can use if they are feeling a little overwhelmed or anxious - so far everyone has loved the sessions 🙂 School is very zen like and calm 🙂
  • After Schools Club Leaflet has been issued today 🙂 All replies to be in no later than TUESDAY 20th January 2026 (end of day).

Please do not bring slips to the office tonight (Friday) - they need to be handed to Class Teacher on MONDAY or TUESDAY morning so that everyone gets a fair chance at looking at the leaflet over the weekend.

Clubs start week commencing: - 26th January 2026. Clubs run on a Tuesday and Thursday only.   With the exception of Progressive Sports (paid club) on a Wednesday.

You will be notified via J2E which club your child has been successful in attending.  Clubs issued on a first come, first served basis.  As always, if children miss 2 sessions they will automatically be removed from the club and those children on the waiting list will be given the place!

So, this week looked a bit like this: -

  • Year 4 had a productive swimming session on Monday - a reminder ALL JEWELLERY to be removed prior to arriving at school please so nothing gets lost
  • Year 5 enjoyed their 'boxing' session with Progressive Sports - they dodged and weaved well 🙂
  • Year 3 and Reception enhanced their topic learning over at Forest Schools

Looking ahead to next week: -

  • Year 4 swimming as normal
  • Reception have Progressive Sports on Wednesday - PE kits to be worn pls
  • Progressive Sports - Archery Club (paid after school club starts Wednesday) only for those children who have paid.  Prompt collection at 4pm from the office.  Children attending this club can wear their PE kits each Wednesday
  • Forest Schools is the turn of Year 6 and Reception - old, warm clothes to be worn and a change of footwear is a must as it's getting muddy over there with all the rain we've had!!

Keep your eyes peeled next week for the SPRING TERM DATES which will be issued via J2E, our website and our school calendar.

Have a great weekend, see you all on Monday

Stay safe and take care

Mrs B and the FL Team 🙂
