Autumn Term 2015/2016
This half term our topic is ‘Our School Locality'
As part of this topic we will be exploring the local area around our school. We will look at what materials appear in our school and its' environment.
Over this half term the children will be focusing on Number orders and place value of numbers. Emphasis will be placed upon recording numbers clearly and the manipulative skills required to do this.
This half term the children will be looking at a variety of fiction texts including the storiesand The children will predict how the different stories will end, and retell them in their own words and signs. Through colour coding they will focus on characters and learn how to ask questions about them. They will link this to their own experiences using drama and role-play. They will build up to writing their own fantasy story.
The class question is:
“What do you know about our school and the materials used in its local area?"
