In Autumn Term we explored Forces and Magnets in Science. We learned about different types of forces including friction, gravity, buoyancy and air resistance. The children conducted a number of investigations including; exploring how things move on different surfaces, investigating the difference between weight and mass and exploring how and why magnets repel and attract different materials.

We have been exploring magnetic fields and which materials are magnetic and non magnetic.

In the Spring term our Science topic was Animals Including Humans. Throughout this topic the children will be learnt all about; nutrition that humans and animals need to be healthy and strong, the digestive system, the teeth and the names of bones and muscles.

They investigated how the digestive system operates and the functions of each tooth.

This term, our topic is ROCKS. We will compare and group together different kinds of rocks based on their appearance and simple physical properties. We will describe in simple terms how fossils are formed when things that have lived are trapped within rock. We will also begin to recognise that soils are made from rocks and organic matter.
