Towards the end of the first half term Year 3 went on a trip to Weston Park. On the day the children had the chance to create clay medals that would have been awarded to various people throughout the war. They painted these at school (take a look at the pictures below!)
They also saw inside the living room of a war time home and what possessions people would have owned. They dressed up as children and adults which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Finally the children were able to sit in a real Anderson shelter which they had very mixed feelings about.
Overall the trip was very successful and enjoyable for all of the children.
