On Wednesday 2nd November as part of our RE topic, Places of Worship we visited a special building in Stafford called The Nanaksar Gurdwara (Sikh Temple), in Tithe Barn Road. The children looked at how Sikh people worship and why. The children were all very well behaved and showed excellent respect for this place of Worship.
In traditional Sikh traditions, as the children gave the temple the gift of respect, the temple gave the children all a gift too. We have discovered that Sikhs do not cut their hair and wear a special bracelet to remind them not to do anything bad and we know about the 5 Ks. It was an amazing day and we really enjoyed our visit.
Thank you so much for letting us come and learn Nanaksar Gurdwara.
