School Life

On Thursday 2nd March we celebrated World Book Day and dressed up as our favourite character from any Julia Donaldson book. We also had a special visit from 'Poppy the Pirate' from 'Pobble' who worked with us to produce some excellent written work. All of our work was published on 'Pobble' and we were so proud!

In February having heard all about our journey from Flash Ley to the Chetwynd centre and back a local International story teller contacted the school and asked if he could offer his skills to the school. The children really enjoyed Billy Baboo and the story of 'The Elephant and the Tailor'.

In December we performed the play 'The Dinky Donkeys' to our Parents as our Christmas production. We really enjoyed taking part and had lots of fun with the singing and dancing. Thank you so much for all the amazing costumes...they were FANTASTIC!!!

On Friday 18th November we went spotty and supported the great charity 'Children In Need'. Everyone at Flash Ley wore something spotty to school to raise money for this wonderful cause. At present we have raised over £200 well done everyone!!

Jeans for Genes was born out of a brainstorming session in 1994 to support research into genetic diseases, birth defects and cancers at Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI). Today it is a much loved and recognised national day in the World calendar.
