In year 4 we recreated the digestive system. We experimented using crackers to see what our saliva does to them in our mouth. Our key question was 'CAN WE FIND OUT THE PURPOSE OF SALIVA?'
After experimenting with crackers we decided to make our own digestive system. Children used bread, orange juice, a food bag and a bin to represent the parts. From the photos you can clearly see there were some "interesting" results.
Children then had to answer the question 'WHY IS THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM SO COMPLEX?'
